I Drive These Bruthas Crazy- I Do It On The Daily-

I had a great weekend.

Caught up on some long over-due sleep on Friday night, (and Saturday afternoon..) had a FABULOUS show at The Wildcard in Chandler.

Sunday morning I woke up feeling a little icky, so I had to cancel my show in Tucson. Instead I slept in, and then went to the movies. "Failure to Launch" is OK. It has its moments, but it is just a little too contrived. At first I thought it was going to be an "adult" comedy (meaning a movie for grown ups- not just dick jokes…), but the movie gets off track and ends up a muddled mess.
Kathy Bates is great- and even Terry Bradshaw is amusing.. Sarah Jessica Parker is luminous, though. She looks fantastic. And her hair is practically its own character. I could not take my eyes off of it.

Since "Failure to Launch" failed to amuse me, and since AMC Arizona Center failed to keep people from talking and babies from crying, I felt totally justified by sneaking in to see another movie.

Funny as hell was "Madea’s Famiy Reunion". It has a fabulous cast, a funny as hell leading "lady", and a sweet theme about family. It is worth the price of admission to see Maya Angelou, Lynn Whitfield (who will always be Josephine Baker to me…), Cicely Tyson, and the fantastic Jennifer Lewis.

Rent "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" and then go see "Madea".

Here are some pics from a recent show.

Fava Beans or Java Beans?

Adrienne Alexander sent me this horrifying quiz.

Can you tell a computer programmer from a serial killer?

I can.
Kind of.

I scored 80%

How did you do?

From My Lips To Your Ears

Oh, so Ted (full-well knowing what is up with me...) asks what is up in my personal life. So i will take the bait and tell you that I have been dating a totally great guy for a little while.

His name is Matt (DC MATT) and he is sweet, funny, sexy, genuine, non-jaded, and able to go toe-to-toe with me when I get obnoxious or say stupid stuff (which happens far more than I realized...).

He is technically my boyfriend, as of now.

I realize how numbingly "schoolgirl-ish" this sounds, and actually have avoided mentioning it because of that very reason.

But there you have it.
So far, our only problem is that he is under the horribly misguided notion that Nate Berkus loves him.

Do not get me wrong- I am sure (POSITIVE) that if Nate knew Matt, he would think Matt was totally dreamy. But the harsh reality is that Nate loves me so much that he hardly even notices other guys.
