On The Road (again)

For some reason, I have not been posting personal stuff on here. Not for any reason other than nothing exciting is happening in my personal life.

DC Matt broke up with me via text.
I can't say I was not a dick, when he did. But oh well.
He is a good guy- but that's that.

On the flip side of that, this means I can be scandalous while I am out of town this weekend. :0)

I am going to one of my favorite cities this weekend! I will be performing in the fabulous Rose Room, in GORGEOUS Dallas, Texas. Last time I was there, I had one of the best shows of my career. So it will be fun to perform there again.

It is a TINY bit intimidating to work with some of the girls in this club, because many of them are national title-holders in the realm of female impersonation. But I admire many of them, and always learn something and get ideas when I work out of town... so that will trump any feelings of intimidation.

The other thing that is wierd about performing out of town, is that I feel like I am representing Arizona and my Phoenix girls. I also worry that someone will see me for the first or only time...and wonder what the hell I am doing there.

Basically, there is a pressure -but also a freedom- that comes with an audience that does not know you.

A few on-line friends have told me they would come see me while I am in town.. so that is cool. Maybe we can even visit in real time, rather than behind our computer screens!

I have crappy flights on both ends of the trip- but I don't care.

As Promised...

I promised a few more pics from Miss Gay Western States.
These are courtesy of DEJA DUVAL, besides being a shutterbug, she was also a wonderful Drag Monkey. She took great care of all of us that weekend.

This is a photo of the girls backstage at the
Double Tree hotel. (Raquel, Bunny, Maya, Lily Nicole, and Rachel.

I'm a Little Bit Country and a Little Bit Stop, Drop, and Roll.

As much as I love to rock out with my cock out, (Ok, I cannot remember ever actually rocking out with my pee-pee out.. but it still sounds cool...) I alos love (LURVE!!!) to get my "country" on.

We are not talking Rascal Flatts or other faux country acts, I mean the real stuff.

Playing non-stop on my record player is Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band.

It's like The Dixie Chicks and Flatt & Scruggs from Beverly Hillbillies had a one night that resulted in a band.

The song "Banjo Boy" is infectious and should carry a warning.
Equally charming (and sweet) is "Dream Big".

The entire CD is off the hook.

My Name Is Dita

No, it totally is not Dita.

But MADONNA is on my mind.

Coming in at a close second is a little singer named Kelly Clarkson.

She is coming to PHOENIX in concertto see me (3rd time!) in July. I am almost sick with anticipation to see her again. Her last two shows were amazing and meeting her in person was sooo friggin' cool.

Madonna will always be my girl, but like I said, Kel is right behind her.

This is going to be the best summer EVER:
MADONNA, Flagstaff Pride (with Chaka Khan), my birthday, Miss Gay Arizona, and KELLY.

Here are some pics from last nights show. Tony was sweet enough to send them tome this morning. (But not sweet enough to PHOTOSHOP my wrinkles... Heh heh.)

This is me at Charlie's doing "Cruel Summer".

Still at Charlie's, probably doing "Boys of Summer".

With Tony at Charlie's. (I think that is me.. unless Tony has cloned me and is growing a Barbra2.0 on his shoulder..)

With Jeff at Charlie's. I do not know how he does it, but he comes to almost every show. He is a die-hard SEVILLIAN!

More Later

My weekend was fabulous.
We saw some old friends, made some new ones, and partied like it was 1999.

I will give more details and maybe some more pics tomorrow.

This is Raquel, Maya, Nicole, Angela, me, Rachel, and Amanda at the fabulous Miss Gay Western States (www.MGWSA.com) Pre-Show at Woody's.
Despite hurricane-like weather, we managed to keep the tent on the ground.

So QWEST finally pissed me off enough that I disconnected them.
They gave me shitty service for as long as I can remember, but I did not want to dump them for COX, because I am old fashioned and wanted to "dance with the one brought me".

Ennywho, after an especially craptastic service call from their customer service department, I told them to instead transfer me to be disconnected.

That was over 2 weeks ago. So I have been with out home service or home internet since then.

But COX (FINALLY) comes tomorrow and I will move in to the 21st Century- and no longer have DIAL UP internet.

Better than COX, is this weekend's activities.

I am off to Tucson to perform with one of my favorite friends and sisters: MISS GAY AMERICA, Nicole DuBois. We are at Woody's together on Friday, and then I am hosting Miss Gay Western States on Saturday.

I totally dig this chick. I have laughed non-stop both times that we have been together. So in addition to the excitement of a pageant, I am looking forward to hanging out with my gurl-friend, Nicole. (It is also his BIRTHDAY, so we will really cut up this weekend!)

Then Sunday, it is back home for our "family" show at Charlie's.

I always have a good time at Charlie's, but the show is just so much better and more fun ( I think..) when it is Puss-Puss, Claudia, Ebony, and me. It is truly something for everyone, and the energy is off the map during these shows.

I promise lots of pics and all the dirt from this weekend will be posted on Monday or Tuesday.

From My Lips To Your Ears

THIS is why it is soooo important that we protect marriage.

I have said it before, and will say it many times more before this battle is over: "it ain't the gays you need to be protecting marriage from."

Is It Monday Already?

I think I survived this weekend. After shows, a pageant, and a wine-soaked afternoon by the sun, I am feeling surprisingly good.

This weekend I was in Tucson to judge Miss Gay Cosmopolitan-Arizona with Buddy. It was a wonderful contest, and a new queen from Indiana came in and swept the pageant. Congratulations, Mikayla, Kay. She and Sache’ have both qualified to compete in the Miss Gay Arizona pageant in July. You go, girls.

We high-tailed it back to Phoenix to have an celebratory drink with Ted.

He is 35. If that is what 35 looks like, I can hardly wait. (But I guess I will have to…)

I met a guy at Charlie’s who had the greatest ass smile, I have seen in a while. We danced, and sang, we got up and did our thang.

I spent Sunday afternoon poolside, with the fabulous friends of my fabulous friends, Nathan.and Travis. We sunned our buns, drank some wine, and noshed ourselves in to a stupor! From there, I headed off to be a part of the first show at the new HARLEY’s.

It was a great time, and the bar is pretty fabulous. Hopefully, I will be back soon.

So even though my feet hurt and I have razor burn, I am having a good day.

Who knows, maybe I am still basking in the glow of the tickets we got to see MADONNA!!!!!!!!!

The Material Mom is coming to Phoenix, for her first stop in over 20 years. I CANNOT WAIT.

She rocked my world in Las Vegas, two years ago. It was one of the high points of my whole life.

So, Jorge, Travis, Antonio, Nathan, Hunter, Erin, and I are all going to be in the house as Madonna turns the world in to one giant dance floor!

Life is good!

Lastly, you simply MUST check out www.myheritage.com.

You can upload a picture, it scans the photo, compares it to its celebrity database, and then tells you who you look like.

After submitting 5 or 6 pictures, (drag and non…) I have come to the fact the I look like Molly Ringwald, Jerry Seinfeld, David Schwimmer, and Ofra Haza.

Seriously- those 4 names kept coming up. (it shows you pictures of guys and girls…)

On some of the pictures, it made note of the fact that I have similar features to Princess Diana, Wesley Snipes (really), and my favorite: KELLY CLARKSON.
